Customer Care FAQ

  • Do you only sell jaycos?

We are a Jayco dealership and all of our new caravans and motorhomes are Jayco’s. We may have some other brands on site that have been traded in. Have a look at our used caravan section.

  • Do you do trade ins?

We can have a look at your caravan as a trade in against a new sale. It will depend on how much room we have on the yard and how much you want for your trade.

  • Do you do on behalf sales?

We may be able to help with an on behalf sale but your best bet is trade me.

  • Can you fix my caravan?

We have full workshop facilities on site. We are very busy servicing caravans that we have sold but we may be able to help. Send an enquiry through our “book a service” button.

  • What type of tow vehicle do I need?

Jayco’s are built tough for our conditions and need a highly rated tow vehicle. Jayco’s weights range from 1800kgs to 2800kgs unloaded. You will need to allow around 500kgs minimum on top of the weight of the caravan for equipment and compare that figure against your “braked tow rating” on your towbar. Popular vehicles are the likes of Ford Rangers and Holden Colarados with a 3.5 tonne tow rating. You will also need a brake controller fitted in your vehicle.

  • What is a brake controller?

A brake controller is a unit that allows you to control the intensity of the electronic braking in your caravan. They are installed by an auto electrician and cost upwards of $800. You legally need one if you are towing a caravan with a total loaded weight over 2500kgs. We recommend one for every caravan. There are wifi options available.

  • If I buy a caravan, how long until I can tow it away?

A stock unit will need at least a week to get ready, most likely longer at certain times of the year. We need to do a full pre-delivery check to ensure everything works and make any alterations that may be required. If you do a custom order from the factory in Melbourne, expect 12-20 weeks depending on shipping and production schedules.

  • Will you show me how everything works?

We do a full 2 hour handover service as part of the sale. This shows you everything there is to know about the operation of your caravan. Feel free to take some notes or even a video. We recommend staying somewhere near for at least a night to familiarise yourself with the caravan.

  • Are Jayco’s self contained?

Generally, all Jayco’s will be certified as self contained. You will need to join the NZMCA to enjoy all the benefits of that self containment certification.

  • Do you sell parts?

We have a full parts department on site. If we don’t have what you are looking for, we may be able to get it. Send an enquiry through our “Parts Enquiry” button.

  • Are you open on public holidays?

Sorry but we are closed on Sundays and all public holidays. We close for 2 weeks over Christmas also.
